Academic Qualifications: Bachelor of Business Studies (Valuation & Property Mgmt.); Master of Philosophy; AREINZ, ANZIV, AAMINZ, SPINZ.

Professional Memberships: Associate NZ Institute of Valuers ; Senior Member NZ Property Institute; Associate Real Estate Institute of NZ; Associate Arbitrators & Mediators Institute.

Work History:

Bill has wide ranging experience in both the practical and academic aspects of valuation, real estate and construction spanning some 28 years. He began his property career in real estate in 1984 and subsequently managed a couple of real estate offices. He also lectured in Valuation and Real Estate at Massey University before concentrating full time on valuation work.

During the period as a university lecturer he tutored various subjects including Real Estate, Advanced Valuation, Regression Analysis, and Financial Mathematics. While lecturing he completed a Master’s Degree which involved researching and writing a seminal theses on the “Sick Building syndrome.”

He has also written several of the Real Estate Institute management papers available through the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand.

Bill specialises in valuation work in the northern suburbs which includesPorirua, Tawa, Churton Park, Johnsonville, Newlands and also the Hutt Valley.

Specialist Skills:

Bill has specialist skills in Construction Valuations, Progress Reports, Lifestyle Blocks, Insurance Valuations, Feasibility Studies, Compensation Claims, Depreciation and Exit Schedules, Rental Reviews and GST Apportionment. He also has experience as an expert witness.

Bill Smith

Bill was born in Wellington and knows the market intimately. He has had 40 years experience in valuing, consultancy, development and advising buyers, owners and tenants in all aspects of residential and commercial real estate. Over his long career Bill has owned and developed numerous properties and has been involved with a major Real Estate Agency in a management role. This experience enables him to have a clear and practical understanding of the market and specific requirements of clients.

Darryl Royal

Work History:

Darryl is a graduate of Massey University and comes from a rural background. He has had 18 years valuation experience and has worked with Bill Sisk & Bill Smith for the past 8 years. He has had wide ranging experience in all aspects of valuation. He has particular interest in Treaty of Waitangi claims and the valuation of Maori land including leasehold interests.

He has lived in Porirua for over a decade and has particular expertise and excellent local knowledge of the Western, Northern Wellington suburbs and also Porirua, Kapiti Coast and Horowhenua.

Darryl has specialist skills in Residential valuations, Maori Land and Development; Residential Subdivisions, Rental Reviews, Insurance Certificates, Compensation Claims and New Residential Construction.

Glyn Palmer

Glyn Palmer maintains the data and the algorithms relating to HomeValuer. He was previously employed by REMI and has been instrumental in writing the source code.

Glyn is a highly experienced Software Engineer and has worked in the IT field for in excess of 20 years. His experience within his specialty of software engineering has encompassed work across various industries including Banking, Accountancy, Government (Customs, Health and Forestry), Retail Management, IT Support Management and Property Valuation. His skills range across the full system development lifecycle from initialanalysis right through design, build and implementation.

He spent the five years full time working with the REMI team from 2001-2005 on the analysis of data (for properties and their sale within NZ) and on assisting with the design and implementation of the methods used to develop an AVM. He now has an insightful knowledge ofproperty valuation within NZ.

Major applications designed and developed by Glyn include software for Loan Management, Trust Account Management, Credit Scoring (Finance), Project Management Support (Project Reporting, Risk Management and Project Cost Estimation), Loyalty Reward Management (for a major Telco) and a tool for Mobile Phone Price Management.
